My working experience could be grouped under the following headings: Advising the top management of a group of Turkey based international construction, petroleum, mining and trading companies which have operations and subsidiaries in CIS (ex-USSR) and Germany; Lectures given at universities, seminars conducted outside the universities, academic research activities, and the applied research projects. As an engineer and with a formal educational background in Operations Research methodology, I have a strong applied and theoretical background in optimization and statistical techniques as well as being a competent computer programmer (FORTRAN, C, PASCAL, BASIC) with extensive experience in both mainframe and microcomputers. I have also supervised various programming projects involving database and spreadsheet applications.
While I was employed by Pet Holding A.S, I was in charge of the reorganization and planning tasks of the company and head the Electronic Data Processing department where I have supervised the installation and operation of a Novell Local Area Computer Network. My other responsibilities included performing feasibility studies for new ventures, especially for our newly acquired petroleum exploration, field development and production concessions in Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan and join the related contractual negotiations.
The details of my academic work experience are given below under various headings:
(1) Subjects lectured at the universities:
Computer Applications, Electromagnetic Wave Theory, Engineering Economy, Engineering Management, Linear Programming, Modeling in Socioeconomic Systems, Network Flows and Project Management, Operations Research, Optimization Theory (Graduate level), Simulation, Statistics, and Management Information Systems and Technology.
